Hello, loves! It’s been a really long time since I’ve posted, and I’m here to fix that.
First of all, I’d like to point out which nail polish colors are really popular for this spring season. Here they are:
1. Blush Pinks
Personally, I love blush pinks or ‘bubblegum’ pinks, if you will. I think they look really great for the spring and add a nice feminine touch. This color below is a nice reference.
2. Baby Blues
Baby blues are great, too! Not too hard, not too rough…perfect for the spring. Plus, I think they’d look great as a solid toenail color.
3. Coral-y peach
This color is perfect, especially for the girly-girl. It’s hip, unique, and–well–girly! Ha. Plus, if you use Essie, you won’t be disappointed. This is one of my favorite nail polishes around.
4. Radiant Orchid
Goodness, I love this color! My toenails are currently this color…it has a bit of an ‘unnatural’ look, but hey, doesn’t that grab a lot of attention? Take this color into consideration if you’re all about being a little daring.
Well, mint has been in for a while now, but it’s a good go-to. I still wear it every now and then for the spring!
Pastel yellows can be a great idea for a spring color this year! Try mixing and matching with other orchid, mint, or baby blue…this can lead to some fascinating nail designs.
7. Vibrant Pink
This is another great suggestion! I love this color, but for some reason I like to see vibrant pinks mixed with blacks. Just a preference.
From what I can tell, pink and blue are two colors you can’t go wrong with this spring. Have fun painting your nails or going to a salon to get ‘em done!
Hello, loves! With the holidays here, I have put together a wish list. I am totally, utterly, and helplessly in love with the following items.
I think these four items are absolutely to die for. All of them are from Urban Outfitters. To find them online, simply click on the image.
With mid-November here and the fast-paced, freezing-cold winds darting recklessly in every direction, all I can say is one thing: I need warm freakin’ clothes.
Then I start to feel like this here baby.
I have had my eye on some warm weather clothing. Here are just a few things I’ve had some interest in.
These harem pants for $15.80 – AKA unbeatable (Thanks Forever 21)
This sweater with lace is the ultimate way of saying I’m cool and fancy all at once.
I am digging the coolness of this jacket from Free People…just simply digging it:
The winter has been chilly here in New Jersey so I am trying to come up with interesting fashion finds. These three items seem to be pretty warm. I’m especially loving the harem pants which are under sixteen dollars–what a steal!
Hello, loves! Now, I’m going to do something I haven’t done in a while: a clothing review.
Now, if you know me well enough, you would notice that I pretty much wear at least one thing from Urban Outfitters every day. I love the place–even their custom water bottles are super cute- the place is perfect for anyone who wants to embrace their inner hippie.
Well, recently I purchased a new pair of jeans since it’s been getting chillier out there. Typically, I’m a huge fan of dresses and skirts (especially with stockings), but I have been trying my hardest to start appreciating jeans, pants, and other bottoms.
Luckily, I found this pair at Urban Outfitters:
This pair of jeans by BDG is really awesome. I went to get my hair cut Friday and I got a compliment from a member of the staff. Whether or not she was doing it to flatter me for a better customer experience is beyond my knowledge, but I’d like to think she genuinely liked them.
These pants fit really well! I was shocked when I tried them on. And–believe it or not–the jeans look much better in person than they do in this picture.
They have a cool distressed look thanks to the acid wash. The website says that these jeans are stretchy, and they actually really are! I can attest to this.
These pants are very true to size which is a huge bonus. There is no need to guess with these pants. I hate that–don’t you? I literally pulled my size from the rack and these jeans fit like a glove.
For anyone seeking a new pair of jeans, these acid wash jeans by BDG from Urban Outfitters are great. Give them a shot!
Hi loves! With fall here, I figured it would be a good idea to get some new nail polish color ideas. Although it’s November, winter isn’t here yet, so I figured it would be a good idea to use some of the best fall colors for this year.
For reds, I like these ideas:
Oh, by the way, if you spray Pam on your nails they will dry quicker. Never tried it out but I would love to find out!
PS, this one is just cool:
It’s time for me to write about David Bowie, AKA the best person in the universe. For real. I love him.
Yes, Bowie. We will be getting married.
While you’re preparing for your Bowie costume, listen to this song:
To be Aladdin Sane this year–one of Bowie’s most popular personas–you’ll need the following:
- A red mullet wig (yeah, that’s the problem with being an androgynous rockstar)
- A funky tight white dress
- Some rockin’ seventies boots (I got mine at Plato’s Closet)
- The confidence of a true legend
To pull off Bowie’s facial makeup, you will need the following:
- Primer. Duh. Gotta keep that stuff in place.
- A REALLY light foundation color. Put on the lightest foundation swatch which will match your skin tone. Also, make sure to add this foundation over your eyebrows since Aladdin Sane appears to have none in his images. Kinda like how Whoopi Goldberg has no eyebrows.
- A reddish, pinkish, kind of purple blush. I suggest Tarte’s “Blushing Bride” swatch or MAC’s “Stubborn” blush. You will need to apply this blush to your highly paled face on the cheekbones–but make sure it reaches close to your mouth and is brushed out toward the side of your face. Also, apply it to your temples thickly. Don’t forget about the bottom of your chin, either.
- A red eyeshadow. For a subtler look, I would recommend MAC’s “Daydreaming” shadow. To be super bold, definitely go for Make Up For Ever’s “Cold Red” shadow.
- As far as your lipstick goes, make it an orange with gold shimmer, if possible. I really dig MAC’s Morange tinted lipglass. Awesome.
Okay, the outfit and the makeup are simple enough, but getting that lightning bolt perfected is going to be difficult. You’ll definitely want to practice, my friends. Try using a light eyeliner pencil first to perfect the lightning bolt. I would recommend using a liquid eyeshadow in red, blue, and white. As long as you have the face primer on, you’ll have them set in place. Add powder (an opaque kind) just in case.
Here’s a picture of me as Bowie two years ago:
At the time, I obviously had no desire for a smartphone. Haha. Also, I didn’t have a lot of money so I didn’t use any of the brands I recommended earlier. However, I know them by heart now so take my advice, children.
How does fashion shibe feel?
Hello loves! With fall here, I decided to look for some gorgeous dresses which are determined by the colors of the season. Take a look and see if any of them strike you!
Although many of us have already had our weekend Halloween parties, there is still time to dress up as another iconic actress. Today, I am going to focus on the doe-eyed fashion icon Audrey Hepburn.
For the Breakfast at Tiffany’s look, you will need to either purchase or implement the following:
A black dress (preferably velvet and long, but short dresses work too!)
A pearl necklace
A really good eyebrow pencil (Audrey’s eyebrows make her unique, so you can pull off the same look with eyebrows similar to her own.)
A hair accent piece
(Such a cool opening song. I’m going to repeatedly listen to it.)
Ah, Pulp Fiction. This is one of the greatest movies out there in the entire world. Being Mia Wallace is a super easy costume idea this year, especially if you’re on a budget–and especially if you have awesome taste in classic movies.
- A white button-up shirt with long sleeves
- A pair of black pants which flair just a little at the end
- A pair of black heels
- A long tan coat (remember when she ‘steals’ it from Vincent Vega?)
- Red lipstick
- A short black wig
- A pack of cigarettes (she smokes a ton throughout the movie; if you aren’t a smoker, consider candy cigarettes as a substitute)
- Liquid Eyeliner
Now, if you want to go all out, you can play her in the infamous ‘overdose’ scene by purchasing the following:
- Fake blood
- A fake syringe (just don’t scare the children, okay?)
This is an awesome and super easy Halloween costume for your party this year. What does fashion shibe think?
Aw…it’s Annie Hall…so precious, eccentric, and–of course–fashionable! Diane Keaton has influenced many with her fashion sense, which essentially stems from the professional business attire of a man and–in my opinion–has certain qualities of a horseback rider. (Not sure why; could be the boots.) Either way, if you have friends who are experts in classic movies, Annie Hall is a superior Halloween choice. Even Kate Moss appreciates the Annie Hall look:
See the resemblance? (Kate Moss shows more skin, that’s the only difference!)
For this post, I want to dedicate it to Annie Hall’s attire in the popular movie. Here’s a basic rundown of what you will need:
- Button up long sleeve white shirt
- Black vest
- Tailored khakis
- Polka dot tie
- Black fedora
- A brown purse or satchel
- A camera
- The classic Annie Hall sunglasses
- Adorable oxfords
- A wig (if you aren’t a blonde)
This is an awesome classic television icon Halloween idea. The movie was so great that Blur wrote a song which includes a part of it…”Annie Hall leaves New York in the end; press rewind, and Woody gets her back again…” This song is called “Look Inside America” and it’s by Blur (PS: Damon Albarn is super dreamy.) Enjoy:
