Getting Fit for Spring and Summer

Now that Christmas and New Year’s Day have past everyone is suddenly thinking about the springtime. For fashionistas this often means thinking about what new trendy tank tops, skirts, sun dresses, shorts and swim suits to get for the upcoming season. (Seriously…just yesterday I received my Victoria’s Secret Swim Suit catalog in the mail! It’s crazy!) This also means that it is that time of year when I terribly regret all of those sweets, cocktails and appetizers I ate over the past couple of weeks. So to prepare for the skin-barring fashions of spring and summer, I plan to cut out the junk food I’ve been eating lately and hit the gym more.

If you’re like me and are trying to get fit for the spring and summer, here a couple of fun tips and bits of inspiration to help you get going…

Inspiration

Love this diamond embellished tank from ASOS

Cute scalloped lace mini skirt from Forever 21

How amazing would this dress from Sabo Skirt be for a romantic dinner on a warm summer night?

Loving this bikini from Victoria’s Secret, especially the jeweled top

You Can Have Your Cake and Eat It Too (kinda)!

Even when I’m “dieting” I still like to have a yummy cocktail or sweet here and there, so I found some workouts to burn off those guilty pleasures..

Starbucks’ Iced Caramel Macchiato with 2% milk– Grande (16 oz.) = 230 calories

Elliptical Trainer for 30 mins = 243 calories burned

Jamba Juice’s Make it Light Banana Berry Smoothie – Original Size = 250 calories

Running or jogging: 6 mph (10 minutes per mile) for 30 mins = 270 calories burned

Oreos – 6 count single serve package = 270 calories

Cycling 12-13.9 mph for 40 mins = 288 calories burned

Hopefully these fashion pictures and workout tips will help you reach your goal of getting fit! What exercises do you do to get fit and trends are you most excited about wearing this spring? Comment and let me know!
